Cliff Avant has been a teacher for almost two decades. He is a husband, father of three children and grandpa to two more. He knows a great deal about working with young people and training them up in the way they should go (Proverbs 22:6). He has taught thousands of students in three different states and counts many of them as personal friends. His philosophy of teaching is not centered on content or college-readiness but relationships. One must know the student to connect with them. There must be an attitude of mutual respect and understanding in order for the learning process to be productive. He doesn’t claim to be an expert but encourages his students to explore and understand every side of an issue so that their ideas are well-rounded and can be defended in the court of public opinion.
